As Chief of Advancement, Funk is responsible for advancing the mission of the Museum through strategic planning, leadership of the museum’s development team and fundraising goals, and the formation and execution of a comprehensive advancement program. She will work closely and in partnership with all Department leaders, curators, the Board of Trustees, and Governors, as well as collaborating with the Museum Director on donor relations, fundraising initiatives, and campaigns.
Funk comes to the Speed from the Jewish Federation/JCC/JCL Foundation, where she oversaw several successful fundraising initiatives including securing $45M in contributions and $25M in private foundation grant funding for the new Trager Family JCC. With strong roots in the Louisville community, she also previously led development and marketing at the National MS Society, Girl Scouts, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. She will assume her role as Chief of Advancement at the Speed on January 16, 2023.
