Catherine Surratt is the current Chief Operating and Business Officer at the Speed Art Museum. Catherine comes to the Speed after a diverse career in non-profit and retail operations, bringing a wealth of experience in strategic planning and institutional relationship building. Most recently, she served as the Director of Operations at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she co-chaired a DEI taskforce to provide strategic recommendations for organization policies, compliance, and learning and development. Surratt also led the auxiliary services team at the Cleveland Museum of Art, overseeing the expansion of facility rentals, event management, food services, and retail operations.

“I was drawn to the Speed for its wide-ranging programming, collaborations and partnerships across Louisville, and commitment to creating memorable experiences for visitors,” said Surratt. “I look forward to working across departments to oversee the Speed’s ongoing operations, build relationships with staff, board members, and vendors, and help ensure a sustainable foundation for the Museum’s ambitious institutional initiatives.”
