“You have to see it to believe it.”—A.O. Scott, The New York Times
From the extraordinary mind of Cannes Film Festival Palme D’or-winning director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and starring Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton, comes a bewitching drama about a Scottish woman, who, after, hearing a loud band at daybreak, begins experiencing a mysterious sensory syndrome while traversing the jungles of Colombia.
In an unconventional move, art-house film distributor Neon is releasing Memoria from city to city, theater to theater, week by week, playing in front of only one solitary audience in a community at any given time. The film will only screen in cinemas never to be released on DVD, on-demand, or streaming platforms. 2021, Colombia/Thailand, DCP, in English and Spanish with English subtitles, 136 minutes. Rated PG.
