SocialEyes: Lost and Found
We live in strange times. At the start of 2020, you might have had some big plans for the future. And then suddenly, many of those plans were put on hold. If you feel like you haven’t done anything normal for a while, please join us.
Each 2 hour monthly event offers ways to check in with yourself, and other adults around you. In a casual space, where we can breathe and laugh, we discuss a single artwork in the galleries, focused on something you might have felt during the pandemic (isolation, disappointment, loss, etc.). Then we make our own art work, giving us a new perspective on your experiences.
It’s hard to know what to do when we permanently lose someone or something. During this workshop, we will experience the immersive artwork Blossom by multi-sensory artist Wolfgang Buttress, as we understand it’s deeper meaning that things that can’t go back to the way they were, but they can also be the start of something new. We will also create wearable, shareable art that reminds us to be thankful for the moments we share.
You don’t need to be an artist. You just need to be a person who wants to make sense of these strange times we live in.
For safety, in-person workshops will be limited to 16 participants, ages 21+. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test are required to attend.
