Topic: Combination Station
What is collage? When most people think of collage, they consider a general combination of materials and paper glued together to create a work of art. But have you ever thought about the specific type of materials? How can they interact in a way that makes the piece more meaningful? Objects chosen can be grouped together in a way that conveys a deeper meaning. This was the inspiration behind our current special exhibition Stories Retold: American Art from Princeton University, which touches on the topics of race, gender, and environmentalism. We welcome you to join us alongside special guest instructor Donna Charging, an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan/Hidatsa/Arikara), for this unique workshop experience exploring the art of collage.
