Visual Stories: Racism and Social JusticeHistorically, through their classroom practice, educators have supported tenets of equality and social justice long before the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964. What is an artist’s definition of social justice? How do artists shape visual stories about economic, political, and social rights? In this workshop, amplify classroom conversations and visual stories about social justice. We will study artists in the Speed Collection and learn creative methods to design protest art in a peaceful context.
