“An incredible piece of cinematic storytelling,” Mimi Kirk, Bloomberg
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Park Chan-Wook’s (Snowpiercer, The Handmaiden, Decision to Leave) cinematic masterpiece, Oldboy returns to cinemas, restored and remastered in stunning 4K.
After being mysteriously kidnapped and imprisoned with no human contact for fifteen years, Oh Dae-Su (Choi Min-sik) is suddenly released without any explanation. In a twisted game of cat and mouse, he has only five days to retrace his past, track down his captors, and get his violent revenge.
Oldboy, which remains a cult classic, has served as an inspiration for auteurs for nearly two decades. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. 2003, South Korea, 4K DCP, in Korean with English subtitles, 120 minutes. Rated R.
CINEMA+ | The screening will be followed by a pre-recorded 12-minute discussion with master director Park Chan-Wook and the equally acclaimed director Nicolas Winding Refn.
