Screened in conjunction with the current exhibition Kentucky Women: Helen LaFrance, this documentary covers the life and work ok Kentucky-born artist LaFrance. She was a self-taught artist represented in many notable public and private collections. LaFrance worked in a variety of media, creating woodcarvings, quilts, and dolls, but she was best known for her memory paintings—recollections of her life that suggest a common experience and strike an emotional chord with viewers. 2021, U.S., video, 50 minutes.
